Countdown Widget 2.0 & 2.1 Released!

posted Mar 23, 2013, 10:22 AM by Ti He

The famous Countdown Widget recently received two updates!

With version 2.0 there comes a major redesign of the Configuration-Activity: it's now in 'what-you-see-is-what-you-get'-style (aka WYSIWYG). That means, that while you configure your favourite event, you can already see how it will look like on your homescreen. Besides of this great benefit for you, the new design will make it more easy to add further configuration settings in the future.

Version 2.1's main feature is the support of the German language in the configuration screen as well as in the Widget itself.

There's more to come, so stay tuned!

Here's a screenshot how the redesigned Configuration-Screen now looks like on my Google Nexus:

RIP Event Timer Widget, Hello Countdown Widget!

posted Dec 24, 2012, 2:36 PM by Ti He   [ updated May 20, 2013, 2:04 AM ]

The headline says it all: neither Event Timer Widget FULL nor LITE will receive any updates in the future. Instead, I have rewritten the Event Timer Widget and call it Countdown Widget now.

The good news: there are a couple of new features in Countdown Widget! In addition to the great functionality you've been used to with the Event Timer Widget, it's now possible to use beautiful colors for the Widget-background, to show the date & time in your preferred format and you can even send a notification when an event is due.

The not so good news: Countdown Widget won't be available for download on this page anymore. You can find it in Google's Play Store now. Countdown Widget Lite will be available for free, Countdown Widget will cost 0.89 €.

The difference between LITE and the regular Countdown Widget? Here's a fancy table:

Event Timer Widget 2.0 for Android™ released!

posted Sep 30, 2012, 12:56 AM by Ti He   [ updated Sep 30, 2012, 4:06 AM ]

Good news, guys! Event Timer Widget 2.0 is available for Download!

And I have even better news for you! This release contains the most requested feature of all:

You don't have to own an Android Smartphone >= 4.0 anymore to enjoy the great Event Timer Widget! The Widgets now work on Android 2.x as well!

Besides of that, I decided to make the Widget visible in the list of your installed Apps, because not seeing it there led to quite a bit of confusion. Nevertheless, your events still cannot be created with an App-launch - an appropriate message will appear instead with further instructions on how to do that.
